Starting on Wednesday, November 1st, the Vernal Bureau of Land Management Division of Fire/Fuels will begin implementation of a hazardous fuels reduction treatment that involves the cutting of pinyon and juniper trees by chainsaw with contract crews. This work will be located in the Coal Mine Basin, Dry Fork, and Red Fleet areas in Uintah County, approximately 5 to 15 miles northwest, north, and northeast of Vernal.  Questions about the fuels reduction project should be directed to the Fuels Program Manager Hank Barela at 435-781-2741 or hbarela@blm.gov.
