Billy Lewis Wins Title At National Junior High Finals Rodeo

A young man from Duchesne County has made the community proud with his national success in bull riding. Billy Lewis won the National Junior High Finals Rodeo in Guthrie, Oklahoma, last month making him the Junior High Bull Riding World Champion as a 14-year-old. Billy competed as an 8th grader from Roosevelt. He’s been riding bulls for 5 years and has been enjoying his building success this year. Billy won the Intermountain Icebreakers back in March in Ogden and was ranked 3rd in the state of Utah for Junior High rodeo. Billy Lewis is among several local young men that represented the state of Utah at the NJHFR. Cruz Robb of Altamont won the Chute Dogging title, Heston Hunter of Neola took 4th place in Tie Down Roping, and Mason Howard of Vernal finished 18th in bull riding.
