The Utah Department of Transportation has given an update on construction in Indian Canyon. “This month, construction will take place primarily between mileposts 264 and 267,” shares the update. “Through this section of the project there are sharp curves, steep grades, limited visibility, and narrow travel lanes. To help keep drivers and workers safe, traffic control has been carefully positioned to prevent vehicles from stopping on blind corners and to guide them around the crew’s excavation areas. Average wait times are between 15 to 25 minutes. Crews will continue to monitor the wait times and help to keep delays under 30 minutes in each direction.” So what work is continuing and upcoming? Crews will update guardrail throughout the project area. A culvert near milepost 264 will be replaced to improve drainage. Crews are continuing to excavate along the road shoulder near milepost 266 as part of the widening work. Rock fill is being imported and placed near milepost 267 to support road widening and crews will begin paving sections of the road widenings between milepost 264 and 265.
