Vernal is an important stop on a state tour aimed at helping ranchers and farmers during the drought. The Utah Department of Agriculture & Food will host their first ‘Drought Meeting’ on Monday in Cedar City, then they’ll stop on Tuesday in Richfield before traveling to Vernal on Wednesday. “Federal and state land agencies will present resources available to help you deal with drought conditions,” shares the announcement. “USU Extension specialists will also be on hand to cover rangeland and pasture health, livestock health, and farm economics.” The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food invites all to come learn what resources are available to help farmers and ranchers deal with drought. The April 22 Drought Meeting is happening in the Uintah County Commission Chambers at 4:30pm. The final two drought meetings in the state are taking place on Thursday in Green River and Friday in Tremonton.
