Uintah High School’s DECA chapter competed Friday at the Utah Valley University Business and Marketing Competition, which featured over 600 students across eight competitive categories. Uintah DECA earned top honors in two of the eight events: Hyrum Raymond and Bridger Christensen took 1st Place in Product Design and Adelade Colovich, Eliza Averett, Trey McKeachnie, and Evan Haslem took 2nd Place in Social Media. Congratulations to the hardworking students of Uintah DECA. To ensure that these and other local high school students who are passionate about their Career and Technical Student Organizations are able to continue participating, visit the Uintah School District or Uintah High DECA Facebook pages to link to a petition. The Utah Legislature is considering cutting funding for these student organizations, including DECA, FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, and TSA. In response, local students have started the petition to show how much these organizations mean to our community and they are asking all to sign it. Tomorrow these students will be attending the Appropriations Subcommittee meeting to present the petition to the lawmakers present.
