Ute Girls Softball Falls to Hurricane in Three Games

The 5th ranked Ute girls softball team hosted a three game series with the 12thranked Hurricane Tigers for the second round of the 4A state tournament. The Utes put together a four-run fourth inning to take the lead, but it slipped away down the stretch in the 6-5 loss.
In a must win game on Friday, the Utes woke the bats up in the second inning, putting seven runs on the board in the mercy-ruled 16-6 victory.
In the rubber-match the Tigers scored early and often, then held of a late Ute rally for the 10-6 victory to end the tournament for the Utes.
