Colorado Parks and Wildlife shares that ‘the passage of Proposition 114 has led to increased interest in wolves in Colorado, specifically, the wolf pack previously confirmed to be present in Moffat County.

Information Being Sought in Moffat County Poaching Incident
Colorado Parks and Wildlife is seeking information about seven elk that were recently shot and left about 20 miles north of Craig. According to a press release, a concerned citizen contacted wildlife officers on November 22nd and it was believed the incident occurred on November 20th.

Public input is invited as Ashley National Forest develops a management plan for the Ashley Karst National Recreation and Geologic Area (NRGA) in Uintah County. Criminally Negligent Homicide Charge Filed In Rifle Hunting Death
Charges have been filed in Colorado’s 14th Judicial District in connection with a hunting death earlier this month in the Rifle area. According to the District Attorney’s Office, a single charge of Criminally Negligent Homicide, a class 5 felony, was filed against 52 year-old Harry Watkins on November 18th. The charge arises from the shooting death of 26-year-old Simon Howell on November 9th.
