Theft has been on the rise throughout the area with the most recent reports demonstrating the fearless attitude of the thieves themselves. On Friday, the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office solicited the public’s help in finding two persons of interest wanted in connection with multiple burglaries and thefts.

Starting today, downtown Vernal storefronts will be sprinkled with some historic flair. According to Chamber Director Joel Brown, the 5th to 5th Revitalization Committee has partnered with the Uintah County Regional History Center to have giant historic photographs printed to be placed on display in vacant storefront windows.

Uintah County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating two persons of interest in multiple burglaries in Uintah County. Tracey Soules and Monty Ellis are both wanted for questioning. If you have any information on their whereabouts or see them, please call Central Dispatch IMMEDIATELY at 789-4222.

Camper a Total Loss in Vernal Fire

The pleasant fall weather ran out on Thursday with cold temperatures and the area’s first real snow. Vernal Fire Department responded to a fire early Friday morning after 5:00am possibly started by a space heater.
