A wrongful death lawsuit has been filed by the mother of an inmate that committed suicide in the Duchesne County Jail two years ago. According to a KSL report, Melany Zoumadakis filed the suit on Friday claiming that her daughter, 25-year-old Tanna Jo Fillmore, was denied prescription medication for a 9-day period leading up to her death, even though the jail had prior knowledge of Fillmore’s mental illness. The lawsuit names Duchesne County Sheriff David Boren, former Jail Medical Director Kennon Tubbs, and nurse Jana Clyde. On November 24th, 2016, Fillmore was found unresponsive in her cell and the autopsy determined the cause of death as suicide. She was being held for a probation violation related to drug convictions.
