Ways to Help Dollar Ridge Fire Evacuees

by | Jul 6, 2018 | News | 0 comments

Hundreds of our Uintah Basin neighbors have been displaced after evacuating their  properties due to the Dollar Ridge Fire. Shelters have been set up with the Red Cross providing for disaster emergency needs but there are many ways the community can help. These families are in need of housing for free or extensively reduced rates, utilities assistance, and various new home items. Often it is easier for disaster victims to be able to shop for items themselves so monetary donations and donations of gift cards can be most helpful. The Dollar Ridge Fire Recovery Fund has been set up at Mountain America Credit Union. Cash and gift cards can be dropped off at the Mountain America Credit Union Vernal branches, Roosevelt branch, Altamont branch, and Duchesne branch. A Go Fund Me account is also set up under the name Dollar Ridge Fire Recovery with all donations going to families impacted. Another option is to make donations of non-perishable food items to be used for the long-term needs of the families. Non-perishable food donations can be made
today from 10am to 4pm
at the Food Pantry trailer in the parking lot of Duchesne County.
