The National Interscholastic Cycling Association high school race is this weekend in Vernal and it’s likely you’ll make note even if you don’t make it up to Buckskin Hills to cheer the mountain bike racers on. Hotels and restaurants will be bustling with over 1200 registered riders and 3,000 to 4,000 total visitors to the area expected for the weekend. Spectators are welcome at Saturday’s event but all will be expected to wear a mask as required by the league with violations resulting in penalties to the teams. More volunteers and paid positions are needed for Saturday’s race and can be found on SignUp.com. Cheer and give a honk to the local team as they parade down Highway 40 Friday evening leaving from Lowes at 5:45pm and traveling east.
