Vernal Woman Arrested After Attempting To Run Over Husband

A Vernal woman was arrested on multiple felony charges this month after Officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, it was reported that a female attempted to run a man over with a vehicle and struck the stairs leading to the residence. The woman told officers her husband threw something at the windshield of her mini van and she drove the van forward to scare him off. The man told Officers that the woman tried to run him over and he threw a vase at the van. He also told officers there were two children in the home at the time. Officers were able to secure camera footage and noted that the victim was walking up the stairs when the woman accelerated the van forward, colliding with the stairs and narrowly missing the victim’s foot. The van struck with enough force it immediately stopped the van’s forward progression, throwing the woman forward in the driver’s seat. 35-year-old Sarah Murray Oocumma was arrested and is charged with 3rd Degree Felony Aggravated Assault, 2 counts of 3rd Degree Felony Domestic Violence in the Presence of a Child, and Misdemeanor DUI with this being a second offense within 10 years.
