Water conservation efforts in Vernal City are definitely headed in the right direction and Vernal City administration is thanking residents and businesses for their great efforts. “June water use showed a significant decrease compared with the same month last year,” shares the announcement. “In June 2026, Vernal City billed 70,461,000 gallons of water, compared with 83,338,000 gallons in June 2025. That is a reduction of 12,877,000 gallons, or 15.45%. The decrease shows that the community’s conservation efforts are making a measurable difference. Vernal City is grateful to the many residents and businesses who have taken this year’s water situation seriously and made thoughtful changes to reduce unnecessary use. Vernal City is not currently using conservation rates. City leaders hope that continued voluntary conservation and responsible water use will help prevent the need to adopt them.” Still, continued conservation will be especially important throughout the remainder of the summer.
