Summer heat is cranking up this week and Uintah County Emergency Management is encouraging the community to take preparation seriously. “Uintah County is under an Extreme Heat Watch this weekend with triple-digit temperatures expected,” shares the announcement. “Start preparing now. Check your AC. Stock up on water. Plan outdoor time for early morning or evening only [and] never leave kids or pets in a parked vehicle.” The Extreme Heat Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service with dangerously hot conditions with temperatures of up to 108 degrees possible Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening. National Weather Service urges all to drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, check up on relatives and neighbors, and never leave any person or pet in an unattended vehicle as interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
