Vernal Theatre: LIVE is being recognized on a growing stage. The theatre has been named the ‘Community Revitalizing Business of the Year’ by the Small Business Administration. Ian Lorenzana, Economic Development Specialist at the SBA Utah District Office, selected Vernal Theatre: LIVE for this award and was able to attend a showing of The Secret Garden at the theatre last week. After the show, he noted how revitalized the audience members were while leaving, a compliment that meant a lot to theatre owner and Secret Garden director Nashelle Jackson. “For me, this is an exciting time for the theatre,” shares Nashelle. “I’m really grateful for the support we’ve received from the community…For all we are doing from a business [and] economic standpoint, the biggest revitalization is in the hearts of people who are in or come to see our shows.” Nashelle will receive the award on behalf of the theatre on May 3rd. This is the second major recognition the theatre has received this year.
