An FBI Fraud Presentation is happening in Vernal and the Vernal Police Department is encouraging the community to be present for it. “Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and fraud can affect people of all ages,” shares the Vernal PD announcement. “We have seen a significant impact on older adults in our community, making education and awareness more important than ever.” The FBI is the lead federal agency for investigating cyber attacks and intrusions. They collect and share intelligence and engage with victims while working to find those committing malicious cyber activities. In addition to protecting yourself against scammers, attendees will learn about reporting to law enforcement and IC3.gov. All are invited to the FBI presentation on Monday, June 15th, from 3 to 4pm in the Vernal City Conference Room, 374 East Main in Vernal.
