Vernal PD confirmed what you likely suspected, that you will not be contacted in a text like this scam or expected to pay a fine in the manner outlined in the scam. Most of the scam texts state that it is a Utah Department of Motor Vehicles(DMV) Final Notice and gives a date that enforcement penalties supposedly begin. “If you receive something similar to this, do not click on the link they provide to you,” shares Vernal PD. “ If you have concerns about a traffic ticket contact your local law enforcement or the court you received the citation in.” Do not click on the link provided.
