Vernal Man Held And Charged For Child Porn And Using AI To Create CSAM

A Vernal man is being held on no bail for allegedly consuming child pornography and using AI to create Child Sexual Abuse Material. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, on August 29th, the Utah Attorney General's Office received a download that was publicly available of suspected Child Sexual Abuse Material and a Uintah County Sheriff’s Officer was notified. Investigation confirmed that the material was in fact Child Sexual Abuse Material. A search warrant was directed to Strata Networks, the Internet Service Provider associated with the identified IP address, seeking subscriber information linked to that IP address at the date and time of the confirmed CSAM download activity. Subscriber records identified the account holder as Kyle Savage. On September 14th, members of the ICAC Task Force executed a search warrant at the residence. In a recorded interview, Savage admitted to not only viewing and downloading the material, but to using Artificial Intelligence software to generate Child Sexual Abuse Material. The Officer also noted in the Affidavit that Savage admitted that when he was younger he was a hands on offender of a child. 40-year-old Kyle R. Savage is being held on no bail and is charged with 1 count of 1st Degree Felony Aggravated Sexual Exploitation of a Minor and 10 counts of 2nd Degree Felony Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
