A Vernal Man is in Uintah County Jail after dressing as The Joker and attempting to break into a Vernal home on Monday with plans to kill an individual with a knife in his possession. Thankfully no violence occurred before police took the man into custody. A press release from Vernal City Police shared that officers found Jonathan Tyler Clark of Vernal matching the description provided. “Jonathan was found to be in possession of a knife which he later stated he stole from the local Walmart along with face paint. Further investigation by officers found that Jonathan knew the individuals whose home he attempted to break into. Jonathan told officers he had planned to kill one of the residents of the home due to a prior argument. Jonathan said he had planned to stab the individual to death with the stolen knife and would kill anyone that got in his way.” Jonathan Clark was booked on charges of Attempted Homicide, Unlawful Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Intoxication and Criminal Trespass. Clark is currently being held at the Uintah County Jail without bail.
