Another year of Vernal Excitement kicks off Thursday with an evening of free entertainment and activities at the park in front of the Uintah County Library. The season of Thursday night activities will launch with a talent show for ages 21 and under. There’s cash prizes in it for the participants and free entertainment in it for the crowd. Vernal Excitement is all about bringing people out and getting them downtown to enjoy all Vernal has to offer, shares Vernal City Mayor Sonja Norton. Having the park at the county buildings is a valuable asset to downtown Vernal. Having the restroom and ability to have sound for events makes it a great venue to have, continues Mayor Norton.
