Vernal City is welcoming public input as they start to envision the future of the Vernal
Community Block. Vernal City Council announced in February the successful negotiation
to purchase the Lamplighter Inn property at 120 East Main Street. A federal grant
awarded to Uintah County in 2022 covers the majority of the acquisition cost and grants
are being pursued to fund necessary environmental clean-up and construction costs to
develop the property into a multi-seasonal public gathering space. All community
members are invited to take a survey to share their input and vision for the Vernal
Community Block. “Building on extensive community engagement and planning efforts
from the Vernal Downtown Plan,” shares the announcement, “Vernal City aims to
revitalize the former Lamplighter Inn site and envision a community space with amenities
and activation to shape the future of Downtown Vernal as a space for the entire
community.” Link to the survey through the Vernal City Facebook page or this news
story on BasinNow.com. The survey closes on May 9th.
