Several reports were made during Tuesday’s Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Vernal City Communications Coordinator Katie Flaniken made an interesting presentation with an overview of recent events and a thank you to volunteers that help brighten life in Vernal City. They had over 40 volunteers and 13 partners that helped during the Annual Downtown Cleanup event in May. The 2026 Field of Flags in June and July had help from over 75 volunteers and there were 283 flag dedications this year. Flaniken noted big projects this year in Vernal City, emphasizing that the 100 North Sewer Replacement project is in its final stage and will be complete in early September. She also shared some highlights from the Wellbeing Survey that was held this year. The survey received 1,103 responses which is a 125% increase from the last survey. The results indicated improvements in both personal and community wellbeing with Family Life, Safety and Security, and Transportation rated among Vernal’s highest-rated strengths. A separate news story will share some details of the Naples City report.
