Today wraps up a 2 week training opportunity for the local National Guard unit at the Vernal Regional Airport. Vernal City shared about the experience on Monday, stating that the annual two-week training is a collaborative effort that benefits both the soldiers and the local community. “This unique partnership arose after the local National Guard unit, 116th EN Company of the 204th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, was seeking a new training location, prompting Ken Campbell, Director of the Vernal Regional Airport, and Quinn Bennion, Vernal City Manager, to brainstorm a mutually beneficial solution,” shares the announcement. “The Vernal Regional Airport is providing the necessary training space and materials for the Utah Army Engineers units. These dedicated soldiers, from local areas, typically train for two weeks annually and one drill weekend per month. Their current two-week training began on May 31st and will conclude on June 11th.” Well done to all involved!
