There’s been an update for the Duchesne County burn window from Roosevelt City Fire and Duchesne County Emergency Management. The Spring Open Burn Period is listed as April 14th through May 30th with burn hours from sunrise to sunset and a requirement that all fires be completely extinguished by dusk. Allowed materials include untreated wood and dry vegetation. Prohibited materials include garbage, household waste, plastics, rubber, treated or painted wood, and construction materials. Fire safety requirements include maintaining a water source and tools on site, never leaving the fire unattended, keeping burn piles manageable, never burning on windy days, and fully extinguishing fires by dusk. Remember, property owners are liable for escaped burns. And last but not least, it is mandatory to report ALL burns to Central Dispatch at 435-789-4222 or 435-738-2424.
