A group of local athletes were recognized Tuesday evening at the Duchesne City Council meeting. “We had the honor of recognizing the incredible Duchesne High School Girls Wrestling Team for their outstanding achievement as State Champions!” shares the Duchesne City announcement. “These young women have shown remarkable dedication, strength, and teamwork throughout their season, representing our community with pride and excellence. Their hard work has truly paid off, and we couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishments.” Business was put on hold during the meeting for the team to be recognized by the Mayor and City Council. Each member of the team was presented with certificates in honor of their success as the 2A/1A State Champions. The Duchesne girls had 237 points to the second place Enterprise team with 154 to win the title. Leah Ivie and Ariana Jones each earned individual state titles.
