Ultrarunner Seeking Cross-Country Record Running Through Uintah Basin

An ultrarunner on a mission is running through the Uintah Basin as he seeks a cross-country record. Cameron Balser has a “fast racing background and an appetite for strange, beautiful distance,” shares his website. He is running from San Francisco to New York City attempting to break the 42-day, 6-hour, 30-minute transcontinental running record. His route crosses Utah, exiting through the Vernal area and then across northern Colorado toward Fort Collins. If things go according to plan, Balser will pass through Duchesne and finish close to Myton today before continuing through Roosevelt and Vernal to finish near Dinosaur on Thursday. This isn’t this runner’s first journey running through the United States. In October 2023, Balser left Ohio for a clockwise self-supported run around the United States, literally running the 11,170 miles around the entire perimeter of the country, finishing in July 2024. Keep an eye out for this ultrarunner seeking a cross-country record over the next few days as his attempt takes him through the Uintah Basin.
