Uintah High School is implementing the state’s “Test to Stay” protocol after the high school reached the threshold set by the state for a school COVID outbreak. According to a Uintah School District press release, Uintah High reached the threshold on Tuesday after reporting 19 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the past 14 days. This means students will participate in remote learning the rest of this week while the school undergoes deep cleaning and a negative COVID-19 test is required to return to in-person classes at Uintah High on Monday, February 1st. Rapid COVID-19 antigen testing will be provided for free to all UHS students and staff on Wednesday and Thursday. Students who test positive or who decline to be tested will attend classes remotely for a period of at least 10 calendar days and can return to school in-person on Monday, February 8th. Those who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 90 days are exempt from being tested but must provide proof of their positive test result.
