TriCounty Health Department has welcomed a new director and he introduced himself this week during an interview on 105.5 Eagle Country KLCY. Kirk Binge got his first job working at the state laboratory dissecting animal heads looking for rabies. He worked his way up to the position of lead microbiologist. With his Masters from University of Utah in Public Health, Binge went on to work with epidemiologists helping local hospitals to set up an electronic system tracking diseases before heading to San Juan County where he served as the director of their health department. Coming from San Juan County, Binge feels the transition to TriCounty Health Department will be pretty smooth as the areas have many similarities and all health departments are focused on the same thing right now with distributing the COVID vaccine. Binge hopes that everyone out there that is eligible for the vaccine will come and get it as soon as it is available to them. With that said, it is important to note that in the coming weeks TriCounty Health is only getting 600 doses of the vaccine so all are asked to be patient and know the health department is doing all they can to distribute the vaccine but ask for patience in the meantime.
