A special ceremony to commemorate the 25th anniversary of 9/11 was held in front of Uintah High School on Thursday morning. The annual ceremony serves as the formal flag retirement of the school’s flag and includes multiple student groups and some special community members. “Thanks to our Student Council, our advanced mixed choir Polyphony, the Scouts, and members of the Patriot Guard Riders who participated in a formal flag retirement ceremony as we paid tribute to those who lost their lives on that beautiful September morning,” shared Uintah High School. The ceremony was recorded and then broadcast to all classes during Thursday announcements. By order of the Governor, flags should be lowered to the half-staff position at sunrise on Sept. 11, 2026, and remain at half-staff until sunset.
