Uintah Heritage Museum Working on Kids Interactive Area

The Uintah Heritage Museum may soon have more offerings for young museum goers. During last week’s Museum Advisory Board meeting, a proposal was presented for an interactive children’s area to be implemented into the office area of the Museum. Minor construction would take place and possible stations could include lincoln logs, modeling clay, a weaving station, a touch pad with history oriented games, a petroglyph wall, teepee, bracelet beading area, a farm area, and much more. Another idea shared was that the gift shop could be renamed the Trading Post and kids would be able to find artifacts in the Museum to earn coins to trade in. The Museum Board offered their support of the proposal and encouraged the staff to proceed with the plans for a new interactive children’s area with new activities.
