For nearly 75 years, DECA has been preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. With more than 90% of DECA members saying that the experiences they had through this program empowered them to be effective leaders, the Basin can only imagine the leaders that will come from Uintah High School as their DECA team had quite an amazing showing at state. They placed 1st as the Chapter of the Year with Trae Elison elected as Vice President of Central Region. The school had three groups awarded 1st place: The Community Giving Project made up of Jared Connelly, Aiden Massey, and Lily Wilson; the Sales Project team of Bailee Allred, Trevan Spiers, and Jaylee Morrell; and finally Reagan Smith for the Start Up Business Plan ($1200 Scholarship). Taylee Elison and Alora Clark placed 2nd for Financial Literacy Project and 3rd for Buying and Merchandising Research Project. Also, Trae Elison, Gabe Elison, and Marcy Reynolds placed 3rd for Career Development Project. Several of the team members placed in the top ten of their categories. The team was even able to place in the Top 10 of the Business Management testing. Congratulations to all members of the DECA team for their wonderful showing.
