A warm farewell was given for Uintah County Commissioner Mike McKee on Monday, with Thursday as Commissioner McKee’s last day with Uintah County. Commissioner McKee submitted his resignation as Uintah County Commissioner on February 8th with the announcement that he accepted the position of Executive Director of the 7 County Infrastructure Coalition. Monday’s Commission meeting and the farewell party held that afternoon gave citizens, county employees and community partners the opportunity to thank Commissioner McKee for his 14-plus years of service to Uintah County as Commissioner. Commissioner McKee repeatedly expressed his gratitude and stated that the feeling of accepting this new opportunity is bittersweet. “I have thoroughly enjoyed serving the past 14-plus years,” shares McKee. “I love this County, I love the people in it and I especially love the employees of Uintah County. They are outstanding employees that work hard and diligently. I also want to thank the County residents for giving me the opportunity to serve.” McKee says he is looking forward to the new opportunity with the Coalition and that his focus will remain on economic development of Uintah County as well as the entire region. “I will continue to be involved,” shares McKee, “but just in a broader sense than just Uintah County. Now I will work for Uintah County and the entire region, which I look forward to.”
