It’s not too late to make the most of Emergency Preparedness Month and Uintah County Emergency Management has some suggestions to get you started. “Emergency preparedness is important for everyone to help build a resilient community,” shares Uintah County Emergency Manager Heidi Lundburg. “It can also help reduce the negative impacts of a disaster if we are prepared and working together. Ready.gov has some great resources for anyone looking for ways to prepare.”  The theme is to ‘Prepare to Protect’ with four simple steps: 1- Make a Plan; 2 – Build a Kit; 3 – Learn About Low-Cost, No-Cost Preparedness; and 4 – Teach Youth About Preparedness. Visit Ready.gov for more information on completing each step. The local Emergency Planning Committee meets every 4th Wednesday at noon at the Public Safety Complex, 641 East 300 South Suite 375, in Vernal.
