County attorney by day, pop culture impersonator by night. Uintah County Attorney Jonathan Stearmer took to the stage on Friday as Napoleon Dynamite for a great cause at the Vernal Middle School. Last week was observed as Hope Week in Uintah School District which brings attention to teen suicide and prevention. Along with many meaningful activities, the Vernal Middle School held a talent showcase that included solo singing acts, dance, comedy skits and an orchestra performance. The icing on the cake of it all was the finale as Stearmer took the stage with his daughter Rebecca, her friend Bianca Foster and a group of teens likewise striving to hit unseen levels of awesome as they recreated Napoleon Dynamite’s sweet dance routine. The performance was a hit and the audience came to their feet in exuberant applause. While the experience alone was worth it, the video of the dance routine is also being submitted by Vernal Middle School students to the Jimmy Fallon Show, along with the challenge for Jimmy to perform the dance with Justin Timberlake on The Tonight Show.
