St. Patrick’s Day is considered one of the most dangerous holidays of the year due to holiday celebrations resulting in drunk driving accidents and fatalities. Over St. Patrick’s Day holidays from 2009 to 2013, there were a total of 276 lives lost from drunk driving crashes in the United States. Local law enforcement will be out patrolling in force. The message of local law enforcement is to celebrate responsibly and NEVER drink and drive. “We want folks to have a good time and enjoy themselves, but be smart, be responsible, and make a plan if you choose to celebrate by drinking alcohol, do not drive,” shares Uintah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Brian Fletcher. “We will be out and be very aggressive looking for impaired drivers. Have a happy and safe St. Patrick’s Day!”
