The public comment period has been extended once again for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Uinta Basin Railway. The Draft EIS analyzes the potential environmental impacts of the Seven County Infrastructure Coalition rail proposal. The proposal aims to construct and operate an approximately 85-mile rail line connecting the Uinta Basin to the existing interstate rail network. The public comment period was extended and scheduled to end January 28th but has received a 15-day extension. A digital copy of the Draft EIS can be found at UintaBasinRailwayEIS.com. This is also where comments can be submitted electronically as well as instructions found on how to send comments by mail. The comment period is now open until February 12th.
