Students, instructors, local stakeholders, and the community gathered on the UBTech campus in Vernal on Tuesday for the ribbon cutting and open house of the new on campus Salon along with the launch of the new Nail Technician Program. Community remarks, congratulating UBTech and encouraging students, were delivered by Keith Foley and Darlene Burns. UBTech Board of Trustees Chair Cuch and new program director Sheena Earl both shared their excitement for the new program and shared appreciation for the support and continued growth of UBTech offerings. UBTech President Aaron Weight said this day was years in the making and that this is just the beginning. Additional programming will be added, including hair and master barber programs. For now, the first group of nail technician students begins in November and applications are being accepted for future cohorts. Students must be at least 16 years old and scholarships are available.
