Local art from the talented members of the Uintah Basin Visual Arts organization have added color and class to the UBTech campus building in Vernal this school year. The UBTech and UBVA partnership is doing more than just beautify the campus, it also aims to generate funds for student scholarships. The first annual Scholarship Art Auction is being held this Friday, April 1st, with a Meet The Artists hour at 6pm and the auction starting at 7pm. “One hundred percent of the funds raised at the auction go towards student scholarships!” shares Vice President of Public Affairs Stephanie Carter. The student scholarships are administered through the UBTech Foundation Scholarship Fund. Earlier that day at 3:30pm, the Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce will hold the official Ribbon Cutting for the art gallery and all are invited to come support these events.
