The majority of access to Red Fleet State Park’s day use and campgrounds areas will be closed for the 2022 season as part of the previously announced major renovation plans. Utah State Parks issued a press release concerning the plans on Friday. The construction will completely redesign and reconstruct the camping and overnight lodging. While this will obviously affect the 2022 tourist season, the plans are aimed at meeting increased demands of visitors to the park in order to energize the local economy into the future.  “Red Fleet State Park, like most of Utah’s state parks, is becoming increasingly popular,” shared Park Manager Amanda White. “To help meet this demand and increase the visitor experience, it’s important that we improve and expand the park amenities…While this project will impact Red Fleet for this season, the work being done will help the park for many years to come,” said White. To stay up to date on the park construction and any possibilities with public access, visit stateparks.utah.gov or the Red Fleet State Park social media pages. Initial construction will begin this June with reopening anticipated for the 2023 season.
