A Washington man has been charged with Human Trafficking and Sexual Servitude of a Minor after stopping at Little America on I-80 in Sweetwater County. According to Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office, 63-year-old David Peter Vier was arrested on January 20th after deputies responded to a call of two girls hiding from a man in the restaurant of Little America. Deputies located the two girls, ages 12 and 14, as well as Vier, who was the man the girls were hiding from. According to court documents, “Vier told the girls that when they got to the motel he was going to have sex with them. [The girls] conversed and agreed that they had to run…When the girls escaped from Vier at Little America, they took his cellular phone with them to call for help.” A search warrant of Vier’s pickup recovered “multiple restraint items, including handcuffs, soft restraints, tape, rope, mouth gags, whips, [and] clamps.” They also recovered a hypnotic tranquilizer and intravenous Benadryl. On Wednesday morning, the FBI took custody of Vier who had been at the Sweetwater County Detention Center since his arrest. He now faces an additional charge in U.S. District Court of Intent to Engage in Criminal Sexual Activity.
