Two “Separate and Unrelated” Lockdown Drills at Uintah High School

There were two lockdowns at Uintah High School on Friday. In the morning at around 10:20am, a lockdown drill took place. Uintah High School informed the community in advance that the lockdown drill would be taking place and that they may see additional law enforcement officers on campus during that time as part of the drill. That afternoon at about 2:30pm, Uintah High School went under another lockdown, this time due to a staff member reporting “seeing someone in the school who they believed did not belong on campus. Multiple law enforcement officers responded to the school, located the individual and determined that there was no threat to the students or staff.” The afternoon lockdown lasted about 20 minutes and once complete, classes resumed as normal. The district clarified that the afternoon lockdown was “separate and unrelated” to the lockdown drill that same morning.
