Presentation On Stegosaurus at Dinosaur National Monument

by | Oct 29, 2019 | News | 0 comments

The mystic of dinosaurs has captured the imaginations of children and adults for centuries and an expert will be presenting on an exciting topic in our area tomorrow. Everyone has a favorite dinosaur and one of the most recognized is the Stegosaurus. The two rows of plates down its back with the spike tail creates a silhouette that any five year old can identify, but surprisingly there is still not a completely known reason for their famous plates, just several hypotheses. Stegosaurus bones were found in Dinosaur National Monument, as well as in every continent but Australia and Antarctica. Come join Doctor Susannah Maidment of the Department of Earth Sciences at the Natural History Museum of London, UK this Wednesday, October 30th from 12pm to 12:30pm. Meet at the Quarry Visitor Center Theater as Dr. Maidment guides us through the world of the Stegosaurus.
