Two Adults Missing On Yampa River Found In Search And Rescue Operation

It’s a positive ending to a search and rescue operation in western Colorado on Tuesday. According to the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office, an adult male and adult female put in on the Yampa River from Moffat County Road 19 on Saturday and the Sheriff’s Office was alerted at around 10:45am on Tuesday that the pair had failed to make contact with family members after not arriving at their expected take-out location. Search and Rescue operations were initiated, involving multiple agencies. At approximately 4:00pm on Tuesday, the adult male and adult female were successfully located approximately one mile from East Cross Mountain. The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office reports that the two individuals were cold and wet but otherwise uninjured. All involved in the search were thanked for their role in bringing this incident to a safe conclusion.
