Tourism is an ever growing contributor to the local economy and that extends beyond the peak tourism months. Tourism season runs into the fall and wraps up with Utah’s Fall Break every October. “Fall brought a great number of visitors to the area and held steady numbers compared to 2017,” shares Uintah County Travel and Tourism Director Lesha Coltharp. “The annual fall break and UEA weekend brought thousands of visitors to the area for one last road trip before the weather turns to winter.” Coltharp also says that local hotels and restaurants are reporting busy summer numbers. “Tourism increases the revenue to the community, with an average of $1200 dollars in tax relief per household to local residents…[and] about 10 percent of the workforce in the hospitality industry,” explains Coltharp. “Tourism is BIG business in Utah and Uintah County is a big part of that picture.” Stay up to date on local tourism by visiting
