Tips During Extreme Heat Watch

Uintah County Emergency Management has more tips and reminders ahead of the dangerous heat this weekend. National Weather Service issued an Extreme Heat Warning sharing that dangerously hot conditions with prolonged afternoon temperatures in the 100 to 106 degrees range are expected from noon on Saturday through Monday night. Warm overnight temperatures are also expected, bringing little to no relief. A top tip to handle this is to stay hydrated. “Staying hydrated effectively is your body’s primary defense against the heat,” shares the announcement. “Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Limit drinks high in sugar, caffeine, or alcohol, as they can make dehydration worse. Keep a water bottle with you and refill it often.” Also be sure to check on elderly neighbors, family members who live alone, and anyone with health conditions.
