Sweetwater County Announces New Speed Limit Resolution

Sweetwater County Announces New Speed Limit Resolution

Safety is always important and that’s what the Wyoming Sweetwater County Commissioners had in mind when they passed a Resolution last week. On April 15th, the Commissioners adopted the Resolution that sets a 45-mph speed limit on all unpaved, unmarked county roads, unless otherwise posted. This is in response to a new state law that empowers counties to formally establish lower speed limits on unpaved roads within their jurisdiction, without conducting a speed study. The goal is to simplify local road safety management and reduce liability on roads never engineered for high-speed travel.
