The Utah Department of Natural Resources has provided notice to visitors of the state parks that based on Utah Governor Gary Herbert’s “Stay Safe, Stay Home” Directive, state parks will be open ONLY to residents residing in the same county as the state park. This applies to all state parks including Fred Hayes State Park at Starvation, Red Fleet State Park, Steinaker State Park, and the Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum. The DNR asks that all practice responsible recreation and this includes social distancing while on site. The DNR also shares that employees at state parks have been asked to clean high-traffic areas or highly-used materials regularly. Visitors are asked to keep parks and facilities clean and to use healthy hygiene habits.
