Utah leaders are meeting this week as they seriously consider downgrading the Utah Leads Together state status from High Risk to Moderate Risk. Utah epidemiologist Dr. Angela Dunn explained during Monday’s COVID-19 state press conference that while cases continue to go up, the rate of cases is going down. The state’s plan moving forward is a phased approach that will allow more businesses to open hopefully by May 1st while social distancing measures remain in place. Dr. Dunn explained this is a slow approach and moving from Red to Orange does not mean life goes back to pre-COVID-19 ways. Officials will be looking for a 2 week plateau with the goal to continue to loosen up restrictions but with the understanding that the state could return to the High Risk status if there is another surge of cases. TriCounty Health District is tied for the lowest count of cases out of health districts in the state at 11. As of Monday evening’s Situational Update, TriCounty Health District reports 6 total cases in Uintah County with 2 labeled as Recovered, 5 total cases in Duchesne County  with 1 labeled as Recovered, and 0 cases in both Daggett County and the Ute Indian Tribe. Also as of Monday evening, the estimated tests conducted in the Tri-County area was listed at 2,104.
