State Board Chairman on Hacking Accepting Tooele Tech Position

A man and his family who have been deeply involved in the Basin community will soon be moving on for a new opportunity. The Board of Trustees that oversees Utah’s Technical Colleges named Paul E. Hacking as the new President of Tooele Technical College earlier this month. Hacking served as the President of the Uintah Basin Applied Technology College from 2004 to 2011 and then as the Executive Director of the Uintah Impact Mitigation Special Service District since 2011. The state Board of Trustees Chairman Jim Evans commented that “the Board believes Mr. Hacking’s extensive background in technical education and his commitment to fostering an environment of growth, community and partnerships will be an incredible asset not just to the college, but to the entire Tooele service region.” In accepting the position, Hacking said he is honored to have been selected. “My wife Lisa and I are excited to be part of a community which has worked so hard and sacrificed so much to offer the life-elevating power of technical education.” Hacking will step into his new position onJanuary 1st.
