If you are an angler looking to catch a lot of fish quickly then you are in luck. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources has released their list of the top four spots in the state of Utah to catch a lot of fish quickly and a Uintah Basin reservoir was included. Starvation Reservoir made the list along with Lost Creek, Jordanelle, and Echo Reservoir. Starvation Reservoir is considered a prime spot to fish for rainbow trout, walleye, and smallmouth bass this time of year, shares the DWR. It’s also a good spot for yellow perch and kokanee salmon. Anglers are asked to keep any smaller walleye as they are trying to thin the number of walleye to help the fishery. The great thing about Starvation and the other reservoirs on the list is that even if you have little experience, anyone can expect to catch plenty this time of year.

All of these waters provide the opportunity to catch rainbow trout, which is a great species for inexperienced anglers. Rainbows will take a wide variety of baits and lures and can be easily caught both from shore and by boat,” shares DWR sportfish coordinator Randy Oplinger.
